Aasimar

"There is no evil without goodness, and there is no redemption without mercy."

Little is known of how the Aasimar came to be, but their existence is proof that some origins in Xandara cannot be explained. Over time, many different theories circulated to try and explain their emergence. Some believe they are descendants of gods, evident by their good and righteous nature. Others believe they are simply a mixed breed of the Light Elves and Aerovians. The truth may never be discovered, but that matters very little. What matters isn’t where they came from, but rather who they are. The Aasimar are almost angelic beings, with the ability to grow three sets of wings. However, they are not born with them, they are earned based on their degree of righteousness. When they complete a significant milestone in their lifetime, a Nimbus (as they call it) appears above their head like a floating crown of light and metal. It is believed that this crown will only appear when the person is worthy. Who deems this worthiness is unknown, but once the Nimbus appears, it will permanently remain unless the wielder falls from righteousness. These fallen Aasimar are shunned by their community, outcast to live in the darkness they chose to defile in, shedding any wings they may have had, along with their crown of light. Such a fall typically leaves an Aasimar an empty and broken shell, but they are not without rights of mercy. They are capable of being redeemed, though the path is excruciating and arduous.

The appearance of the Aasimar is similar to that of the Light Elves (without the pointy ears). They generally appear as glorious humans with lustrous hair, flawless skin, and piercing eyes. They have natural skin tones with eye colors that can either be normal or slightly glowing with silver or gold. Hair color is typically blonde, white, or red, but have been seen with darker tones as well. Their wings are very different from the Aerovians, whose wing appearance is determined by different bird species. The Aasimar wings are almost always solid colors of either white, silver, gold, or red.
